Control of game admited by the previous posts of your own parents. I wonder how it would play out if we were not in our 2nd month of learning curve? I know you don't want to lose players to OFC but imagine us with SLSC's experience with 11V 11? Ask yourselves, how did Plano work out for ya last Sept?

Southlakes played Academy last season just like everyone else (which is 8v8).

Ofc-We played some 11v11 in the spring (micheal brown tourney) great tourny. We also played three or four in house 11v11 games but was also playing 8v8 in between the 11v11 games witch was hard to keep transitioning back and forth, so we didn't do very well with either, lol. U guys (Ofc) are a good team and are only going to get better, there's going to be a lot of battles between our team in the years to come. In my previous post I was just calling it how I saw the game and u have your opinion to. There was one parent who yelled help your keeper and he just don't know a lot about "real soccer" there new to the team. Once again u guys have a really good team and can't wait to play u guys again.

Can someone define a "shot" and "possession"? It appears different parents from the same teams are reaching opposite conclusions.

Possession is often defined as a player or team having control of the ball. This can mean passing out of the back or front. There are also shots and then there are shots on goal. 2 very different things.

Went to a OU game yesterday. The person keeping stats, counted a shot on goal when the goalie made
a save within the frame of the goal. It didn't matter how hard or soft the attempt was. Possession to me is when you string passes together or dribbling the ball.

Well I define possession as a team moving the ball between players to try to get a good attempt to score, not a defender winning the ball and trying to launch it up field for a forward to try and take on two or three defenders and get off a weak shot. With that being said when we play we really focus on pass pass pass, our coach does not want our girls launching the ball or trying to individualy take on the whole team. So right now when we play it's going to seem like we lose possession or the ball is on our half a lot because were trying to make 5 or six passes before we make a run, there ten so it's hard to make 5 or 6 good passes but when they do connect we usually score and that's why were beating these team who "control the whole game" 1-0. So the more we play the more crisp our girls are going to be therefore the more shots we get on goal, and like the parents from these other teams are saying they took one shot and scored one shot, imagine if we start getting 7 or 8 shots on goal.

Cosmos04- who is the coach of the 04 team at slsc? I think it's pretty funny to have a 10-11 yr old boy or girl to string 6 passes together before you make a run.

Who knew. I'm glad I'm not a soccer guru. Although I am going to have to apologize to my daughter now and not get upset with the team anymore. I never knew that when they lost possession, it was simply because they were trying to make 5-6 good passes. I never knew possessing the ball most of the time was not important. I never knew 10 year old girls could simply have an off game shooting, but clearly be a more dominant team. Something like that must simply be limited to professional Sports. Like I said, I'm no soccer guru. I just really appreciate being enlightened.

That's funny u can knock it all u want but what I think is funny is that three ofc parents gave us there email and told us to let them know when tryouts are next year, said they were concerned with the skills that there team is not getting. It's been fun gents but got to leave this board before I go nuts, keep up the whining everytime u lose Ofcdad because its never yalls fault when u lose it was Niether luck or bad refs. What ever helps u sleep at night I guess.

There is a better chance that OFC girls will come to Tulsa than them going to SLSC. #REALITY

If that is true those OFC parents are nuts. Who is the coach of this Slsc team?

Not nuts. The best girls from OFC would rather play on the best team with most exposure and that would be far and away TSC (ECNL) not SLSC. However, I still bet most of the best west side girls will end up at OFC by U13 just like every other age group besides the 02's.

Agree soccerschmuck they will see by U13. Then we can play OFC with the best from the west. They seem like a lively bunch.

If Bixby beats TSC in one age group and one game. I don't think most TSC teams think Bixby is now a rival. Sounds like a good win for southlakes, but no offense - I don't think at ESC/NOKC or OFC considers Southlakes a rival in many age group if any age groups. Its always OFC/TSC. Its who's competing to be number 1, not being happy with being in the top 4.

Probably some truth to that. But OU may not take Baylor serious here in a few weeks due to not being a traditional rival. If so, they are doing that at their own peril. I am only interested in 2004 girls and soon 2007 boys. Overall club program rivalry? Eh.
