I would predict that Kitterman chooses to challenge to play up next year.  Kitterman has consistently chosen greater challenges when available.  He plays up in tournaments and even played on the boys' side of last winter's Soccer City indoor league:

They got beat up pretty good by the top few 04 boys' teams, but held their own with the rest, and ended up with a positive goal differential.

Bottom line, challenging up will be another opportunity to push the envelope -- it will just be too tempting to be among the first to test OSA's new challenge rules.  Plus, the $500 will make it all feel like a night at the casino!!

Each coach and team should do what they feel is best for developing and challenging their team. The Bliitz girls played a session in the boys league in indoor last winter also, it was great competition:

I think Kitterman's is more visible but most of the Top teams have played up. Further, most of these teams have looked to greater challenges. A look at gotsoccer (competitive and academy accounts) and you see both TSC teams, Blitz and Cosmos playing up last year in some form or tournament. I know NOKC played several in-house games against boys and other clubs were doing the same when it comes to indoor.

Now we sit at competitive. These teams are getting their first taste of continued competition against each other and I for one think the competition is pretty even. All you have to do is look at scores, scoring differential and factor in the learning curve of teams who haven't been playing 11 v 11 that long. I think the talk of playing up is very premature.
