Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
I did not see where Blitz had a sanctioned tournament this spring. For whatever that is worth.

Hopefully the west side teams choose to participate in both of the tournaments.

I wonder why the Blitz Spring tournament didn't get sanctioned? I see that they are still going forward with the tournament even without US Club or USYS sanctioning. I'm curious if that will deter any teams from coming.

Looked at applied teams for Lexus cup and did not see kittermen. Looks like it's going to be a solid competition for the most part and was curious if kittermen was going to play in the 04 bracket or try and play up in the 03 bracket?

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
Well it looks like kittermen is running scared again. I'm sorry but this is a joke, u guys playing up when there's plenty of comp in the u-11 bracket. Kittermen is so scared to get beat by another 04 team from the state of OK that u hide in the U-12 bracket that way u don't get knocked of your little pedestal, it's pathetic.

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
Wow, you're covered in jelly.
Hard to believe you are a SLSC parent after the lopsided game we just played against you all. Wouldn't figure you'd be too eager to see that again. You can't be a Winters parent, we just played them too. And both teams are actually getting along with each other now. You're not Blitz, they're too nice and I know most of their forum names. So I'm thinking you're an OFC parent hiding behind a fake "other team" name.
One solution, you could remove that weak forfeit you posted on us and actually play the game. Although we are still awaiting the outcome from OSA on the protest we filed, it would be nice if you would actually want to PLAY the game.
...and lay off the haterade so early in the morning, some of us need our beauty sleep.

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
not often I would agree with cosmos04 , but why the need to play up in your own tournament that looks like it has drawn some decent teams from outside the area. Several that making the trip thinking they will play the best from Tulsa area.

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
Last year at Lexus Cup, we met 04G LP Dalglish in the finals of U11 bracket. Both 04 teams went through some good 03 teams to face each other in the championship.
It's no secret where we'll be if you want us. The coaches know.
And hey, we just played in a U11 tournament that had OFC 04, Blitz 04 and Winters 04 in it. We went undefeated and only had one goal scored against us the entire tournament.
In short, we don't chase GotSoccer points (sometimes I wish we did, but not my call). We challenge ourselves always, so that when we go to tournaments such as PLD, State Cup or Dallas PremierSuperCopa, we are more prepared.

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
I'm a Slsc 04 parent I am not hiding behind no names. U guys came to Slsc and tied us 1-1, we had three starters missing and still played u guys, did not try and reschedule game like u guys did with ofc because u were missing players. I wasn't at the game in Tulsa but I do believe it was 1-0 with 8 minutes left with your goal coming from a bad hand ball call in the box that was not called till kittermen parents started jumping up and down crying about, go figure, lol. U guys have played a full year longer 11v11 than any other west side team and the gap is closing quick and u guys no it, so call it what u want fatherless but u guys are so worried about another 04 team beating u guys that your hiding behind the u-12 bracket because u don't want to get knocked off your pedestal, that u guys put yourself on

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
No we're playing right where we belong. We are not claiming to be the best team in the state(u guys already claimed that on your team Facebook page) but we can compete against the best and that's why we spend the money to play in your tournaments. U guys need to look at parkers 02 team, they use to dominate from u-8 to u-12 just like u guys but that's not the case now so don't count your chickens before they hatch:)

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
Not sure why anyone cares which age group other teams play in? Each team should do what they feel is best for them... We all have good teams with strengths and weaknesses, and should focus on developing our own players without comparing them to the others, IMO. When TSC goes ECNL the other teams won't play against those girls anymore anyways, so let them play up!

So, by your admission, we DO dominate! I know that's what I saw when we played you the other day, so I agree with you, as I'm sure you'll be happy to know.
To pick up on another thread, when do you think that your best girls will make the move to OFC? This year or next?

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
Why would the Kitterman team play in their own age group when they have already beaten every Oklahoma team and haven't lost to any of them? It makes since for them to play up and face tougher competition. I actually commend them for not trophy chasing at this tournament.

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
IMO...the Kitterman team plays up to position themselves in a no lose situation. I get that from a mind set/confidence standpoint. They play up and win, they win and beat 03's...they play up and lose, they get beat by 03's. When its your tournament, out of town/state teams generally travel to play the best in an age group. This tounament is a good draw...as a club, I would rather bring home hardware in all A bracket/gold divisions. I dont think the team is running scared from ANY 04 teams, but there is more than enough comp. in the U11's for them to play it.

Re: Lexus Cup and Blitz Tournaments
There is a precedent within TSC where the top team continually avoids the other top teams in their age group--TSC 01 Beattie. They deftly avoided the other top teams for about 2 years before going to ECNL...and I don't think there was any doubt that OFC 01 was the superior team. (maybe even Blitz 01 Navy at one point). They went as far as not entering state cup at their own age (kind of a raw deal for the kids, imo)
I don't think you can accuse Kitterman of doing the same thing yet. While they may be considered the best team, its pretty clear that the top part of the 04 group is plenty competitive...and it certainly isn't a guaranteed medal for Kitterman if they were to play their own age group. But, in their defense, it gets old playing the same teams over and over in league play and then in tournaments. They know they will be playing these teams in state cup in a couple months anyway. And there is something to be gained by playing bigger, stronger, faster kids (hopefully, if they play up, they play in gold and not silver).
Now the one kicker is that TSC is hosting this tournament, and some teams will travel to the tournament specifically to play top teams in a specific age group. I think the club does have some responsibility to make sure that happens. Browsing the team list, it doesn't look like there are any top TX teams traveling up north (although the one JB Marine from St. Louis team may be handful), so the real competition is going to be from OK teams. Does that lessen their obligation to play their top team in that age group? I think so b/c they have played them multiple times this year. But I still probably play in the '04 age group with the turnout.
