Meaning, I think, that Parker and Blitz are in on the Girls side, and WSA and SLC are in on the Boys side, without the need for any play-in games.

Again, just a solid rumor . . . so don't trash me if I'm wrong.

Hope you're right!

Not me! That does us no good. If they want to do a 5 team gold and want to give amous and nysa a chance, then there needs to be a pre-season placement tournament with all the teams who want to play gold. Yeah u want to credit amous for winning state cup 8v8 but they don't have the same team as last season, rumor is they picked up a lot of hardings kids and some rec players. They just need to make it right there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to play in gold.

If this is how things go, I see a west side sweep. OFC and South Lakes finish on top. Parker may push OFC. Do not see any of those teams challenging South Lakes in 2.

So it's your contention that Amos pushed Howe to bump them up to gold and at the same time screw over a different team within the club-- TSC Parker? Sounds logical   Rolling Eyes

As I said "theory".  Also don't know if Amos pushed Howe or who but hear be lobbied for it. Add to that a paid dopd from TSC has such a high position at OSAanx it's a fair question to ask. Also, the way it was set up coupled with the fact that blitz lost so many players equal almost guarantee Parker makes it.  There are other issues that are prevelant.  In other age groups continuity is required. It does not appear so in this age group.

Again my issue is the way this was done is so non sensical and not in the best interest of competition that it wreaks of something else going on behind the scenes.  Maybe everyone is upstanding.   Maybe not.   Either way fair to ask questions.

One other item. The officials at OSA may be of pure mind and no other motives. However, if that is the case I revert back to my shame on them as they have exhibited gross incompetence. They did not seek the opinion of coaches or anyone who is the know. Instead they concocted this hair brained scheme with no logic whatsoever to it.

Looks like a three team tourney between Parker blitz and slsc, top team is in and if Griffin plays up they will take top two.

OSA told our coach there will be a three team playoff between the three teams ( no guest players Parker) and the top team is in.

While I'm glad to see some movement, my issue remains the same. Why does Amos and NYSA get automatic berths? They haven't earned it. 11 v 11 is different. They haven't showed that they can compete in that format (maybe they can) and thus they should be required to earn it. Why not include them in this little tourney and play two games each day?

I heard from some good sources that Amos and NYSA have accepted the invitation to play OPL I. Plus, Griffin is allowed to play up but must play in OCL and work there way up. I believe they said no to that because playing up in OCL wouldn't be a challenge for them (it really wouldn't). So that means 1 spot is open for OPL I. Blitz, SLSC, and TSC Parker will compete in a play-in tournament. The winner plays OPL I and the other 2 go to OPL II. May not stick, but as of today it's what's been confirmed.

Maybe OSA will change the rules agian and let Griffin play in the 03 silver bracket. That will in return open up two spots in OPL 1.

Here is the problem. OSA wants to claim "blinders" They will say 8 v 8 teams may be just as good because it was a development decision by the coach. Unfortunately OSA has no clue what the teams are capable of and is making a decision without one iota of common sense. They are essentially saying TSC coaches have no idea what they are doing as the third team may be better than the second team. We all know the truth. Amos and NYSA will get destroyed. Is a sad indictment of OSA and the influence some peddlers have. I will bet any amount of money Rother and Amos lobbied while the rest of us sat quietly as OSA said this wouldn't be an issue.

OSA (on the boys as well) by not letting Kitterman play into the 03 silver have shown they have no clue what they are doing.

I can promise you this. Nysa and Amos will be more competitive than the Clinton team you beat 19-0 and 10-0.

Yes they will but Clinton is in ocl because there coach made a bad decision to put them in 11v11 gold last, the same mistake nysa and amous coaches are making this season.

Them playing in gold bracket. There going to have a tough time keeping games competitive. The kid we picked up accounted for 80% of Norman offense last season so I really believe Norman is going to struggle.

Not quite what I've heard! May be that Blitz, Parker, and SLSC will be playing for two spots, not just one...Confirmation pending.....

Don't know how them playing in gold will be mistake. Other than Griffin(which may not be in U12 anyway), they will be competitive with everyone else. May not win but should make for good games with everyone.

South Lakes better perform on the field this fall after all this complaining. They better compete and win games in Gold or dominate in Silver. Depending where they end up.

Its frustration that the rules have been altered. As a coach from a Tulsa club told me, whoever did these brackets must have been drunk cause there is no other explanation. For example, TSC's third team gets automatic bid over their second team? Its nonsensical. If we lose or get beat then that is what happens. However, lots of things would have been done different at a lot of clubs had these been the rules. OFC may not have gotten their forfeit and would have been in this playoff. Other teams may have moved games because of injuries. On and on. OSA has got to be consistent with rules and expectation.

In the end, we could all be wrong and Norman and Amos are these great teams. However, history suggests otherwise. Further, we all can cut out the BS and acknowledge that Norman and Amos are absolutely unknowns at 11 v 11 and should have to at least play in a play in format.

As an aside, if we get beat and move to silver and/or don't dominate silver then that is fine. Thats the rules and we understand them. Same for other teams. Just don't go changing the rules at the end of next season.
