Asking for a friend. If you daughter was an 04 who needs to develop a bit with aspirations of playing ECNL, whose team would you shoot for?

What team were they on previously? Are they a true age 04?

Rhein would be my choice in that situation... Then Parker would be another good choice.

Moritz at Blitz may be a good coach for you to look at as well. His resume speaks to his development focus and he also gets good results out of his past teams.

I agree with Yellowcard on his assessment of Rhein. He's probably the best coach out of the '04 TSC group.

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
The 04 coaches at TSC are all very good. My daughter played for Parker this past year and gained confidence, skill and determination I've never seen her have before. Don't know what anyone would have against him. This year she made the Griffin team. I've watched him coach for a year now and he is a great coach. Rhein coaches my 01 and he is fantastic as well. I don't see where you could go wrong with any of them.
Moritz at Blitz looks good. Haven't seen him coach but it appears on paper he has great experience. Do what's best for your daughter and see where she would fit best.

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
Lots of changes this year.
Is Blitz going to have only have one 01 girls team now? Their 2016 coaches list has Moritz as the only coach in that age group.
I know TSC practices at ISSC and All-Star, but does the recent merger (I know it's in dispute atm) have a potential effect on future practice locations?
Time to move my older daughter to a club closer to the house. This age group change is really shaking things up.

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
Donivan Bradshaw
David Critchley
Dave Bolding
Randy Williams
Mike Schwarz
Can someone give me a quick rundown on the 01 girls coaches? Williams is the only returning 01, and he coached their OCL team this year. Who is coaching the OCL and OPL teams this year?
My daughter has potential and speed, but needs technical work. She is an OCL / OPL level player right now.
One of the most important qualities about a coach to me is his/her demeanor. I like a coach who will push them to be their best, but inspire them rather than berate or beat them down mentally. And a coach who is approachable. Is that too much to ask? Haha.
If anyone can give me an honest insight on any of the listed coaches, I would much appreciate it!

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
If your concern is technical, you won't find a better coach than Critchley. If she doesn't get him for a coach, he does do personal sessions and is worth it!

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
At the 01 level, coaches will not train technical. They train the team for what the team needs. Coaches at that age expect them to already have that or get personal training to develop.

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
I agree that by this age technical is not a focus and that team tactics take priority, but she isn't completely without skill. Just mentioned that it's what she needs to work on most because she has other attributes.
We have done a couple sessions with Jesse Williams but he is super busy. There is another guy we're using this summer that is more available for both my kids.
I'm most interested in the coach's personality and how they deal with youth (and girls).

Critchley matches the attributes you listed. He will inspire and push, does not berate and is very approachable.

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
Thank you, SoccerMom. I did send you a PM.
I'm curious what teams the coaches will be assigned to, and how they'll build and pool their players with the age change (i.e. keep teams together as much as possible, or completely rebuild them from scratch).

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
Too late to make Critchleys team... That was decided weeks ago. He has the ECNL Composite team... Donivan already has his team together as well since he has the top ECNL team. Bolding has the SRPL team and it is more than likely filled too, but there could be a slight chance. More than likely you get Randy or Mike for the OPL and OCL spots. Hope for the best!!!

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
Thanks YC, that was some of the info I was looking for.
I'm somewhat familiar with Randy. Anyone have experience with Schwarz as a coach?
I know TSC had two OPL teams last year. I can't imagine that changing?

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
They should have 2 OPL this year too... Schwarz is a good guy. But he seems to cancel a lot of practices on his 2nd team currently...

So it appears Terry Manuel is taking Schwarz's slot.

Re: TSCH 2016-2017 Coach List
OK, so my wife signed the stinkin' paper on Thursday before I could go over a few things and agree that's what we wanted to do. She said she didn't want to have to get out the next day to do it! Mad me mad to tell the truth.
Friday, I get a very compelling offer for my daughter and I want to heavily consider it. Am I screwed now that my wife signed the form? I haven't paid a dime.

No they will let you out... But you better play your cards right or you may not have the same offer in the future...
