Just my opinion, but I just don't think the best of the West could hang with the best (beast) of the East.

Sparky. Mathematically speaking I think you are wrong. The number of soccer players are the same for west side of the state as they are for the east side. The current (always subject to change) batch of top players on west side have had the same amount of training and privates as the top players on east side. I see little difference when trying to put together a 15 team roster between east and west.

Actually, if you go back, I said that we were open to looking at anyone at anytime, so not entirely happy with 13. As to other points, the guesting was in relation to tournaments. I stand by what I heard and saw go on.... Of course other teams scrimmaged during tryouts...just not with us.... Who knows how many reasons on all the sides, with and without merit, there were for this. It just needs to stop for the girls sake. As far as "attacking" a particular club or team, I'm honestly trying to answer how I think we ended up with 13 players. Maybe my interpretation is wrong or there is a benign explanation, but so far the version of events I gave fits reality best. IMHO! I would be interested in knowing how you know "not one girl" wanted to come over to play for kitterman.... Seems like a lot of minds to read to me, given all those teams with all those girls...!
All ribbing aside, all this will settle out by the end of the year or the following year at the latest. Hopefully enough girls will have developed enough to get those extra 4 girls or so to really put together a great team!

Sorry, never ment to cause so much controversy. I was just curious why your team only carried 13.

IMO, if you take 7 from Kitterman and 7 from Winters you will probably have a really good team of 14.  One last thing (and this is not meant to be an attack) yes, it is true.  Not one girl from the other 04 teams wanted to come to Kitterman.

More like 12 and 3 ---or 11 and 4, but certainly not 7 and 7.

Interesting thing is, there are 3-4 on the blitz 04 that could also take those last 3 ECNL spots. Better hope they don't figure that out, cause if they do, anyone on the outside looking in better get used to playing OFC.

Wow, this has kept me entertained, had to finally join. Y'all are a riot. So there are only 3-4 ECNL 04 spots for the 2016-2017 season?

Well crap. I think I better withdraw my daughter immediately and acknowledge that I have wasted time and money on coaches and privates and the fact she is outside working on juggling by herself on her one off night is irrelevant. I mean how can we ever compete with TSC as they produce special ECNL soccer genes via chemicals in Tulsa water. I will recommend to all westside players to immediately quit the game or forfeit any game against any TSC team

Yep. I mean just because you don't divide schools and have triple the players to choose from has nothing to do with that. Oh well, I'm sure your players are already being recruited by D1 schools so I figure we wi do dance. I think you guys have hurt feelings over beat down OU gave TU

Not to get you two all riled up again but doesn't ECNL roster a whole lot more than 15? And I agree with something said earlier, they're 10, who's dominant now may not be dominant 3 years from now.

Very true. I would also expect a few girls from outside the big clubs to wonder over and make a push for spots on the top teams.

As a parent of an ECNL DD I'll give you my perspective(3 years worth):
1. OFC, Blitz and all other clubs are irrelevent once you get to ECNL. Your DD will NEVER play them again. And you can speculate until the cows come home who's best in OK, but it doesn't matter. You need to worry more about your DD development and how to beat TEXANS and Sting.
2. In the 98 and 99 age group they brought both complete teams from Blitz and effectively replaced the whole TSCH teams. Only a few girls survived. So if you think your DD position is safe just because she's on Kitterman now just ask some Kitterman parents about when Blitz 99 came over. They are always looking for better players and no one is safe. For Kitterman parents, just look around because some of your players won't be there in 3 years.
3. Kerry Shubert will play the best, most college eligible players. He's not interested in politics and YOU don't have any say. The only thing that has any say is wether your DD can play or not.
4. For WEST SIDE parents. Don't let your club or coaches fool you. ECNL is where it is at. The competition and college exposure is worth the trip. We have had several college coaches from ARK, OU,OSU tell players they need to get into ECNL for the competition. You instantly go from playing one or two competitive league games to playing 9 plus all the best players in the nation from top clubs.
5. Money spent is not all that diff. than playing PLW.

Love #3

Also heard this directly from the coaches at UNC this summer, they go to ALL ECNL national events as well as the playoffs/finals (as does EVERY top program). You want to be seen by the top schools nationwide, ECNL is currently the way. You have to call, let them know your daughter will be there, game times, and they put her on the list to come watch. Your DD has about 10-15 minutes to impress before they are moving to the next girl on the list. I thought that was interesting insight.

I hope #3 above is operative! I do find it odd that both the 98 and 99 ECNL teams were replaced by Blitz teams. What was the deal with that, anyway? Not trying to irritate anyone here, just trying to get a handle on it. It would seem to me that if there were no politics in picking the ECNL teams, then they would've already had the  best girls from the club in place and there would be little if any need for entire teams to be replaced. Is it just a couple of odd years where the best teams just happened to be at Blitz (I know this was the case with the 99's...just don't know much about the 98's)? I'm also pretty certain I know of cases of politics in the 2000's with regard to ECNL. Again, maybe just specific to that year or just defective products of the rumor mill. The 2000 ECNL squad certainly doesn't have a good track record overall. I wonder if a lot of Umelo girls will end up on that squad? What are your thoughts?

In order to get this thread back on track, after week one of OPL who is top 5. Here are mine:

1. TSC Kitterman - gap is closing and will be closed by spring. Think they will win big against some teams then turn around and lose to those same teams in spring.
2. OFC - still unsure of the offense and possession but defense wins in soccer. Big and strong team. Problem is they still play a lot of kickball.
3. SLSC - Talked to a parent. Still unsure on their defense but offensively very fast. Probably 2 - 3 players short of competing week in and week out.
4. Blitz - May be number 2 or number 5. I simply have no idea so I ranked them here.
5. TSC Winters - My buddy caught their game. Wasn't impressed with their explosiveness. Defense was solid. Seems similar to what I saw at beat the heat.

*I still maintain any of the top 5 can beat the others on any given day. There is not a lot of separation as we see in the 03s with TSC Amos and what OFC appears to be developing into. One bad day could equal a lopsided score. I think it will be in the spring before we can truly get an idea who is who as coaches are still moving players around in different positions due to 11 v 11 being new for most teams. So for fun here is the rest of my rankings.

6. TSC Amos - He looks like a very good coach. I've seen his 03s and I tend to think he will get the maximum out of his players.
7. NYSA - They are not very good now. That said, like Amos I tend to believe Rother is a quality coach who will build a competitive team. I don't think they will ever compete for a state title but can provide some quality players.
8. OFC 04 White - Some talented players you will see on OFC's first team next year.
9. NEOFC - I'm just guessing right now.
10. CVFC - still guessing.

I've only seen 3 teams:
3. Winters- Winters is good coach. Loves his girls. Team is not as athletic overall as OFC or Kitterman. Plays pretty slow. Has best goalie in 04's.
2. OFC- Has better athletes than Winters overall. Plays to slow to be top team and to direct. Don't know coach.
1. Kitterman- Just as fast as OFC. More athletic overall than OFC. Plays the ball faster than OFC. Plays off the ball better than OFC. Give Kitterman edge overall. Coach is X-factor. He could ruin team, but will only have for a short while.

I'll play as I know a little about the 04's:

Today
1. TSC Kitterman
2. OFC
3. Blitz
4. SLSC
5. TSC Winters

Late Spring 2015
1. TSC Kitterman
2. SLSC - you have to pick a sleeper right?
3. OFC
4. Blitz
5. TSC Winters
