04 Girls Gold

Now that the dust has settled and we now have the Gold teams sorted. Does anyone know when schedules come out?

Not sure of the dates and times but I heard OFC has all home games.

That's a good one.

The schedule should be out sometime during the week of August 10th. August 7th is the close of reschedules, so it should be out right after that. However, since this is the OSA we're dealing with we'll probably get the schedule on August 28th right before opening weekend.

Nice one, but I think OSA is trying to be more fair this season. That being said, I bet they get ESC as their Home field and all away games are at NOKC.

So predictions on who comes out on top in gold? OFC, Cosmos, TSC Amos, TSC Parker or NYSA.

Cosmos couldn't get it done in play in games. They are kicked down to silver. Blitz is in.

But Blitz won both play in games. What's the reasoning behind it?

1 short of continuity prior to the play in. Keeping in mind OSA was informed, by blitz on July 6th well before play in. We were still asked agree that if we wanted to participate. Tuesday after play in said continuity was now an issue and informed us of steps to take for OPL 1, which was done. Still decided silver was what blitz had earned

Long story short, OSA is basically saying, even though we KNEW about continuity guest part of July, who cares. Even though you contacted us to confirm we wanted to play in play in, after you knew about continuity, who cares. You won both your play in games, who cares. You notify us after play in and tell us what we need to do to get in gold, we do that, who cares.

Sucks for Blitz because the loss of players didn't seem to affect their level of play much.

OPL Gold is pretty much chalk imo.  OFC & Parker fighting for 1st, Cosmos in the middle, and Fury & Amos fighting to avoid relegation.

Wow. So play in tournament was pretty much a waste of time. And the team that won both games isn't in, but the team that lost both is in. CRAZY

The whole thing is a joke. The tournament was a joke. The system is a joke. 04 Gold is a joke. For SLSC we played the tournament with 12 kids. Winters i know had kids missing. All teams did the "tournament" with few practices and probably no scrimmages. The tournament was in 100 degree heat in middle of the day and was a safety risk to the kids. SLSC lost in overtime in last minute against winters and penalty kicks against Blitz. Blitz beat Winters 2-0. Even with the shortcomings they were highly competitive games which is what the top tier is suppose to be. All teams deserve to be in Gold and it still irks me to no end that Amos and NYSA did not have to "earn" there spot in any type of tournament. Blitz should be angry. They earned the right! I go back, OSA failed these kids and this age group.

On a side note, heard number 7 for OFC sustained a bad injury. Losing her greatly effects them IMO. If she is out i think OPL gold is up for grabs and wouldn't be surprised if Parker, OFC or Cosmos prevailed.

OSA absolutely sucks. By far the worst sports organization I have ever witnessed. They care nothing about the kids, clubs, or the growth of soccer in Oklahoma. They have once again proven their lack of integrity and understanding of youth sports. What a bunch of wankers. I feel bad for Blitz and it looks like SLSC also gets the OFC treatment here. Must be a westside thing.

There are many times us westsiders feel the eastside gets preferential treatment. That said, bias is probably not the issue insomuch as sheer incompetence. We too feel this is unfair for blitz and came as a suprise to us. However, we also felt the whole thing was unfair from the perspective of placing Norman and Amos in this group without them earning it. Believe me when I say OSA has never exhibited any love for SLSC. In fact, most clubs feel OFC and TSC get all the love. However, the truth probably lies in the fact that OSA year after year bungles things to the detriment of the children.

In the end, this furthers the truth that OSA makes crap up as they go along and there should be wholesale changes within the organization and/or the clubs should go US Club and form their own leagues. Blitz got screwed. The bracket is not made up of the best teams.

I'm sorry but SLSC is the only team that has proven that they don't deserve to be in OPL I to this point. I agree that Amos is probably the most undeserving. However, SLSC lost both play-in games and failed to score a goal in either of those games.

I'm not blaming SLSC. This 100% OSA's doing and I hope Blitz tears them a new one for this. OSA is completely incompetent. I mean, hell, they already did a double take and duped Blitz 1 week after they outright won the play in tournament.
