Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
I don't see the big deal either. Seems like everyone knows this season isn't indicative of what the teams will be next year anyway. I suggest parents start lobbying for their player's position on next years team and stop worrying about this spring as much from a standings or winning prospective. Put on your political hats and start the hand shaking... Everyone knows that's how things get done in little girls soccer! Oh and don't forget to keep them thinking positively!!! We don't want a bunch of kids quitting because their parents are mad about the shake up...

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
A throwaway season, some say...but, when the competition starts, everyone will still care who wins! And that's a good thing.... Also, how teams finish this year will still have a lot of import as to league placement, standing in the All Important GotSoccer standings , and just plain street red....!
But your point about putting on the political hat and start the hand shaking is, unfortunately, great advice.....

Teams will have to keep a certain anount of players to keep the team in rankings. All teams without a certain percentage staying will be dissolved of all previous stats... If you have kids that are moving age groups the best advice I can give is to start going to practices with the appropriate coaches and levels. Meet people let your kid meet some of the girls and show them it's not a scary thing! Get them seen early and often!

Agree with all you say....but, I feel that OSA will be a little lax on continuity rules this year. Maybe not, but that's my gut!

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
OSA will screw this up. Continuity will go out the roof. Take for example an 04 team that hypothetically has 8 AP 04s and 8 AP 03s. Which team gets to stay in top tier OPL. Better yet. Take 04 team that has 11 AP 03s and 6 AP 04s (current team in our league from what i understand). Why should the 04s get the bye whereas the 03s do not?
The solution is simple. Year long top tier OPL consisting of 8-9 teams. Take NYSA, SLSC, OFC, TSC, Blitz, OFC white team, TSC white team and see if two other teams self select. Play 8 games in fall and 8 games in spring. No team will play the same team twice in fall or spring (other words tsc can't play blitz twice in fall it must be one in fall and one in spring).
Simple solution and guarantees your getting the top teams in OPL.

The other part to consider is that the AP 03s might not actually all be on the same team next year anyway... Right? Who knows the right answer... no matter how it happens, someone is gonna have their butthurt...

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
I don't mean to change the subject but do you think Oklahoma will have a DA club? I've heard that in the begining only the large metroplexes (Dallas for example) will have DA. I personally don't know enough about DA to have an opinion but I hope somebody on this forum might.

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
That is a valid question... I have heard that its not fully set up and finalized even in those large markets yet. As of now its hard to say. ECNL and SRPL is the best we have right now. Or ODP... LOLOLOLOL!

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
OFC and TSC will try to make moves to get in it. Question is I don't think either club meets some of the boys side standards currently in place. The other big question is does this open up ECNL. I know TSC exclusivity contract is almost up. Next two years will be interesting.

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
I'm not so sure that there is any "exclusivity contract".....From what I understand, ECNL tries to add new clubs in a geographically balanced manner, and this is what (along with eligibility criteria for membership) keeps the ECNL club count at 1 in OK...again, I am not "in the know" on this, so I could be wrong...just passing on what I've heard.
As far as DA is concerned, who knows? The chatter out of NTX is that some clubs with ECNL will get DA, too, and others without ECNL will get DA...so I don't think they are necessarily linked in any manner....

Re: Oklahoma 04 Girls
TSC does have exclusivity for the first 5 years. But some of those other factors come into play as well. Allegedly DA will be the new ECNL and ECNL will be the new PLW or SRPL and tiered down so on.
