Re: NYSA Classic Cup...
All I will say is tournaments on the west side of the state are getting progressively worse than better. Oklahoma clubs needs to do a better job supporting each other's tournaments. Doubt that will happen though with the animosity between clubs and coaches.

Location : Look around the pitch, I will be there....
Re: NYSA Classic Cup...
My coach said tournament director has burned coaches in the past so people wont go back. Really need independents in Oklahoma City to run some tournaments. That way you take coaches doing schedules and brackets out of the picture.

Looks like FC Dallas 05 & 06 on the boys side & Blitz 04 are doing some trophy hunting...unless the weather bothers them too much

I wish they would cancel. Who wants to play soccer in 20 degree weather.

Re: NYSA Classic Cup...
They should cancel this tournament. When you put the money before the players safety it's a problem. GSI has cancelled their showcase and the OSA cancelled all of their games for the state. The wind chill will put almost all of theses games into below freezing conditions. I would reconsider ever playing in a NYSA event if I was signed up for this and they insisted on having the tournament. It shows where their loyalties are.

My oldest has played in some nasty weather touraments over the years. It's just the price you pay for playing soccer touraments in Nov- March in the Midwest.

If you get an early game such as a 8:00 am etc it will be in the low to mid 20s without a windchill. Thats just not safe for small children. No kid should have to pay that price for living in the midwest.

It is a little colder in Kansas this weekend than in OKC. But I hope they come to the same conclusion.

Re: NYSA Classic Cup...
Broken Arrow just canceled their rec tournament that was scheduled for this weekend and they did it for the right reasons.
"We deeply regret having to cancel, but our ultimate responsibility is for the safety of the players and parents. With many teams travelling to attend and the forecast expecting up to 3" of sleet and/or snow, sub freezing temperatures, etc.; we feel it's necessary to be safe. Should one person get hurt travelling it would not be worth it."

NYSA should cancel. No money is worth the risk of injury or harm to players, volunteers, referees, administrators and parents. It's not worth it!

I have two teams going my youngest is a 07 boys team and we have a 730 game I don't mind playing but I thought they should have moved the younger games more between 11 and 5 i know it will be cold but wouldn't be as bad as 730 am

Great! They just cancelled the tourney. No Sunday games. I'm wondering what part of the weather forecast changed from now and this whole week?

Re: NYSA Classic Cup...
Yea they just cAncled the tournament and saying there not refunding money sounds like they made there money not worried bout people that spent a lot of money to come but all there worried about is them making money everyone knew they would do this and requested this tournament be cAncled like all the other tournaments was I think this is BS

Re: NYSA Classic Cup...
Looks fishy, cancel before fri you have to refund at least partial $. Wait till after sat. You get to keep it all, and you make a ton more cause you don't have to pay refs sunday! Genius Norman! When's Normans next one? Let's all support it.
