Details are still expanding but Composite ECNL is affiliated with ECNL.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the ECNL composite teams this year were sold as a 2 event, 6 total game total venture.

You are correct Rico. ECNL received such positive feedback from their trial event last year they decided to expand programming. It's still expanding but we should have a final schedule soon.

I hope it works out great and everyone is happy, but shouldn't TSC know what the ECNL sponsored composite team program is before selling it and forming teams? I know just throwing out those 4 letters can get some parents to throw open their wallets, but isn't there a big difference between an ECNL Composite League piggybacking on game schedule and national events for regular ECNL competitions, and a composite league run by LHGCL with Texas and OK composite teams with only 2 sponsored ECNL events per year?

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
Why would you assume TSCH has not informed their coaches or players exactly what Composite ECNL is? My comment about expanded programming was in regard to the future of this league. Composite teams have already been informed what to expect this year but they haven't received their schedules yet.

There was a pot on the texas forums, by a typically reliable source that ECNL is not sanctioning the Composite League.

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
Some of the future additional programming discussions have included additional age groups, expanded regional/national coverage, training programs for coaches, and a championship series for Composite ECNL teams. We don't know if any of these programs will make it in 2016, which is why there are so many discussions happening on the TX forums, but we will know soon.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the people running the club know more than we do. Just because someone in Texas is running their mouth about stuff on a forum doesn't make it true... They could be making stuff up like I do on here all the time!

So true, the people running the club likely does know more. Doesn't mean they're sharing all of the "more" they know. I think it's believable when an OSA member concerned about their own child speaks with coaches and directors in Texas and they inform him that the composite tryouts were done before ECNL said they world sanction the teams. He himself is concerned when he's told ECNL said they would not sanction composite teams all over the country because they do not want to dilute their elite league status. To date, not sanctioned and no league to play in.
It's definitely it there, so i would get confirmation for myself if i were a parent.

Man I had dinner with Jen Woodie last night and she said not to worry... See that's how rumors get started. Wait until there is something official before you start worrying! Otherwise people get in panic mode for no reason...

Lol... hope food was good. I'm just giving food for thought. I mean is really simple, just email and ask whoever handles ECNL. Is it sanctioned or no? TSC are many things, some good and some bad, just like any other club. However, they're not stupid. Doubt if would put anything in writing on behalf of ECNL if it wasn't fact.

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
So which team will be the SRPL team at TSC in the 03 group? Is it Bahnam or Richardson? I've heard both. Any TSC peeps know?

Technically Richardson is named the SRPL coach, but it will all depend on how both teams do this fall in OPL. If they are both in the top 4 then they will both be SRPL in the spring if they choose to accept. Both teams should be pretty good though!

Yeah, but how can both be in OPL1?

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
I know Tina can use her own team id and stay in opl1. Whos team id would Richardson use to stay in opl1. If I understood right, placement is based on your spring season and the club is allowed to either leave the team id position with the age group, or move it up.

Well Williams 03 played SRPL so he would have that spot...

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
He's on SRPL list under U15s. Don't think it will matter though. With all these teams moving ids around, can't see how they're going to be able to keep opl1 at just 5 teams. At least in the fall. Numbers don't work of they do.

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
I was wondering the same because the 5 would prob need to be the 4 SRPL teams plus whoever won the division when those 4 teams did not compete and then how do you resolve something if one of the 04 teams that where in OPL Gold decided to use their spot for their 03 portion of their team??? Seems like they will have to do a play in event or just expand the league.
The USYS National League is expanding so seems like OPL could just expand.

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
That would be us. We're carrying our opl1 team id to the 03 group, which makes 5. Then the winner of opl2 still has to move up. Question is how many teams.
I'm the wrong person to discuss play ins. You can't even trust that'll be done right. Been there, done that. It'll be interesting, to say the least.
And i don't know enough about SRPL, but Gabe they always had 2 divisions in SRPL?

My understanding is SRPL maintained some continuity rules (can't remember where i read that) whereas those rules are most likley out the door on an OPL level.

Re: 03/02 Composite ECNL
Williams and Banham were both in OPL Gold last fall... Richardson will get Williams spot and Banham will remain. Griffin won the 03 silver bracket. Pretty sure they will have to move back down to 04s. Nobody should promote. I would say Richardson, OFC, SLSC, fury, and Banham will be your OPL gold division come fall. Does that make sense?

Yes they did but that will only matter for 02s and older. The 03s will do the same exact thing they did this past season with playing OPL in fall to determine SRPL in spring.
