What 04 teams are playing? Will enough of the top teams play so we can start sorting out the pecking order of the 04's?

OFC 04 Phillips will be playing in Beat The Heat (also Plano Labor Day).

Most of parents I've talked to @ TSC have said that tournaments aren't setup yet. But I'd expect at least top 3 teams to go to Plano. No idea yet about other tourneys.

OFC 04 (Phillips) 11v11
OFC 04 White
OFC 04 Black
OFC 04 Red
OFC 04 Gold
This would be the order of teams and as far as I know only the first team will be playing 11v11 this year.

To bad 04 Kitterman decided to not join the party (to good to play in 04 group I guess, even against North Texas' top team). We should get a good read on how the 04 oklahoma teams rank. Looks like just about everybody else is playing and with the good Texas teams coming up it should tell us a lot.

Yes....a little surprised Kitterman is playing up with the fact there are some good TX teams in and some top OK '04 teams in. It isn't like they have destroyed all the top OK teams in the state last spring. Blitz 04 beat them twice in the same tournament and the newly formed OFC team should be strong. Does anyone know if they are going to play OPL this year since they will be forced to play in their own age group?

Or it could be they do not think they can beat Winters and Blitz, let alone a top NTX team (not sure they are really #1, but the FBR say so). It is easier to explain away a loss to older girls.

Some of those teams will be in the 8v8 bracket for U11's. Based on last year's result, either you played 11v11 Gold or 8v8 Gold... however there were 14 teams last year and now 20 so I wouldn't be surprised if the 20 teams are divided into 11v11 Gold, 8v8 Gold and a Silver in one or both of the formats. Anyway, I doubt that team got bumped to U12s.

Kitterman asked to play up I am sure. I agree with uplaylikeagirl. They do not want to lose to other Ok teams their on age. You have a built in excuse if you lose to top 03 teams or look good if you win lower bracket of 03 tournament.
OPL should sort it all out. I cant imagine them skipping out on that but if they do they are going to extreme measures to try to label themselves the top 04 team.

IMO the OK team that wins the 04 gold 11v11 division (or places highest if Spirit wins which is likely) will have the strongest claim to being the top 04 team in the state unless Kitterman runs in the table in 03 gold (doubtful). Since all our girls play soccer for development and not trophies or bragging rights I am sure that does not matter. But if it did matter, U11 gold is the place to be to show-off the new 04 competitive rosters.

Looking at the accepted team list again I will be a little surprised if they put 04 kitterman in 03 gold bracket. I don't see them having much success there. It will be a pretty tough group of 03 teams. More than likely they will be in the silver bracket where they will do well. Just my guess though.
At least with Blitz 04, OFC 04, Cosmos 04 and TSC 04 winters and amos all playing we should be able to see how things will start to shake out with Oklahoma teams. I am pretty sure 04 Kitterman will not be able to avoid them all year. 1st year of competative is always the most intriguing.

Amos is playing some 8v8 & some 11v11 this year. Pretty sure this tournament is 8v8.

You have one of the very top (if not top) 04 teams from NTX and another NTX that should be decent coming and Blitz along with TSC Kitterman both are playing up. To me it is a shame and somewhat embarassing. I applaud TSC Winters and OFC for staying in their correct bracket. If Oklahoma's top teams keep doing this we will not keep getting the top NTX teams coming up to play. They come up to play or best not just some of them. Tournament directors should also get a handle on this or we will lose the top NTX teams. I AGREE TOTALLY WITH RICO!

Any Blitz or Kitterman supporters on here who can tell us why you would want to play up when one of the top NTX teams is playing U11? Obviously your team's choice, but it does seem weird.

I think that TX Spirit has been playing 11v11 for longer than any 03 team aside from TSC 03Amos

Let's assume why Kitterman and Blitz are playing up:)
Kitterman may or may not be as good and want to avoid the other top 04s so they don't have that loss to deal with. But they are the "top team", so why mess with the others.
It is assumed Blitz can only win when they have 03 guest players, so the need to play up in 03 division.

Gunners, do you know if Kitterman or Blitz are using 03 guest players? That option had not crossed my mind.
