Oklahoma 04 Girls

There used to be alot of opinions on this topic in the past... now just silence. Let's start talking agian. Which team is the best at the moment? Who is going to raise the Cup this year? Will there be a new champion or will TSC continue to reign as state champions? Can any of these teams compete with the beasts of North Texas?

OFC 04 has put up some good wins recently (and playing quite well, by all accounts), and Blitz 04 seems to be doing well down in Dallas right now, and Parker has their moments. So, who knows? I'd still have to say the betting money is on a repeat of last year, with Griffin the odds on favorites to win. Very deep talent and athletic pool, and most of the girls used to playing different positions, so it makes Griffin hard to beat as injuries not as much of a factor in that multiple girls can play any given position. Again, that being said, I think that it is 12 year old girl's soccer, so anything can happen on any given day, so it could be any of the 4 teams named on this post. I've seen this team (Griffin) play terribly (the worst I've seen in over a year) one game and really well in another, all on the same day just two weekends ago! That's what makes it fun....

As far as the beasts of NTX go, the true beasts, no...no OK team there yet on a consistent basis, by any measure. The level just below the top 3 or 4 teams in NTX, yes, Griffin pretty consistently wins those games. What'll be interesting, to my mind, is what the landscape will look like after true age. The 03 TSC team has the potential to be "beastly", and I would say the same about the 04's. Depends who makes up the teams. The top 03's will go ECNL, so no one around here will ever see them again. The OPL top team will be very good, but maybe not dominant like Kitterman/Griffin has been over the last 3 or so years. 04's will probably be very hard to beat in OPL. Just my opinion, and very possibly wrong on some counts...What do others think?

It's still Griffin by a lot. Other teams below them are in my opinion Parker, OFC and then Blitz. The top teams in Texas still much better than any team from OK. The talent pool is much deeper in Texas. If we could combine all the best players from OK we may have a shot at them. That will never happen though. Next years 04's will be stout. Still think TSC will be the one to beat. Like Bird said 03's will be ECNL next year so they wont be seen around here again. Hopefully they can do better than the 00 and 01 girls who really have struggled but gotten better.

Heading into the spring:

1. Griffin
(Gap)
2. OFC
(Small Gap but still noticeable)
3. Parker
4. SLSC
5. Blitz

I expect same from bigger clubs in T town

The bigger clubs will always fair better. OFC still controls the numbers on this side. We will split almost in half put a team together and go win. I expect the same in T town, Texas pretty much everywhere that has the numbers. The smaller clubs will have a hard time unless the have dominated and have little fallout. Its all about depth. Our 2nd team was 1 goal away from Gold this season. Can't grow big fish in shallow water. Try outs this spring are gonna be wildly open. Please feel free to come.

With all the Developmental Academy rumors, why spend the money on ECNL as a 2003 next year?

Thats an intersting point Big Red. Some people like their child to be on the top team no matter the cost. Im not one of those. Next year should be fun!

At this present moment I would also have Griffin At the top followed by OFC, Parker, south lakes and Blitz. By state cup time it should be some really exciting games to watch.

The Griffin team will be hard to beat just due to the fact the talent is so deep. Even if a player has a bad night like Can Newton did for the Panthers another player can step up. All the teams have talent and should make for some great end of the season soccer.

Where is SLSC04 DAD or as he likes now ENERGYFC04 or whatever is convenient silly? Boy calls me out and no post? BTW Archer is here.....

Glad to have you back. I was missing the consistent OFC cheerleading and you didn't disappoint on this thread.

 Hey son.  I see your still struggling with that 8th grade education and reading comprehension regarding who is "calling you out."     Such a pity to watch grown men struggle with such basic reading concepts coupled with their personal insecurities as they talk trash to little girls as they play soccer.   Further, tad bit concerned that you have some other underlying issues as your infatuation with me (haven't posted hardly at all especially about you) runs deep.

Don't agree there is a gap between OFC and the other 3 teams, 2-5 have beaten and tied each other this year, but it will be interesting to see who gets second at state. OFC and Blitz have recently done well in Dallas, but there wasn't much in the way of competition, none of the top N Texas teams were there... but good warmups for the spring season. With Blitz back in gold it will make for a more interesting spring season.

I do think 2nd in state could be one of any 4 teams. The pool play usually limits that to some extent (best team usually gets through - especially with no "gimmies") but injuries or a player(s) making a development leap could switch the field on many of these match-ups.

Archer u guys will not split in half your team is majority of 03's. I would be concerned if I was a 04 parent or a 05 parent whose kid will be a 04 next year at ofc. There is a reason Phillips is giving up the 04 group and putting a coach who has never coached a top team before with that group. Not trying to hate on your group but stating the facts. I do believe ofc 04 group will no longer dominate the way that they have been.

Are all of the top 5 teams made up of mostly true age 03s? Any of these teams over half true age 04s?

Slsc has 8 out of 14 that are age pure

Griffin 8 out of 15 age pure.

Of these 8 pure age kids. How many are starters?

Are you saying lately that 7 of the starters have been 04s?
