2004 True Age Landscape Empty 2004 True Age Landscape

Post by SSD2004 Mon May 09, 2016 6:57 pm

So what is the future for other clubs in OK for 04's in 2016?

Does Parker and Griffin have enough 04's to keep a team (or two) at true age?
Does Carreno move into true age 04 and become a power?
How does OFC look after seeing many of there 04 team move up to 03?
How does Blitz look on 03/04 distribution going into next year? (Their current 05 club looks pretty highly ranked)
Will there be a "new" team (Norman) that rises into the top 5-6?

Finally, were the obnoxious parents on here 2003 or 2004?  My mind tells me 2003, but my heart wants it to be 2004.   Twisted Evil

These are some questions I would like answers to over the next few weeks from some of our message board "friends".

03 Ragland should do very well in ECNL. He has a very large group of quality players to choose from Beattie, Williams, Baham, Sharp, Griffin and Parker.

04 Griffin and Parker will be stacked next season, possibly stronger than this season. Griffin has 8 players returning, I think Parker has 10, and Carreno has 8 04s moving up.

Richard Beattie is taking the top 05 group for JR ECNL. Carreno has 7 05s returning and there are many strong players on Melton and other teams. Tryouts are this week for the top team and there are close to 75 trying out.

918 - I'll bet you a paycheck Parker doesn't have near 10 04s on its roster. Very Happy

I thought one of the parents posted they had 5 03s and 10 04s, but I think your right, they might have fewer. Can any of the Parker parents confirm?

Don't forget the Critchley ECNL Composite team that some 03s will play on with 02s... Then you have Richardson taking the SRPL team. Ragland and Critchley teams won't be seen in Oklahoma again so those girls that make those teams will be off the radar. The teams that will be here in Oklahoma will be Richardson and Banham. Honestly these two teams will easily compete with the other clubs in OK. The talent is so deep at TSC in the 03 age group...

Dont discount the 04s on the Melton group. With their results over the past 2 weekends they obviously have players. Not sold on composite teams bc of the mixed age groups. Its going to be very interesting over the next few weeks

Good point redcard. When you add Melton and even Amos 04s to the list you really start to get an idea how deep this age group will be next season.

Thanks redcard. This is good data that us on the westside would not be privy to....

Mixed age groups is exactly what we have now... I see no diff. But I think it will make filling the SRPL team a little more difficult with that being the 2nd level team for both 02/03 and 01/00 etc...

At this point its all conjecture. One way of looking at this is what players do you have returning and if they are starters. Take 04 Parker (just throwing name out there). Is the 7 2004s they said they have all starters? I know one is a goalie. of the remaining 6 how many return. Are the centerbacks? Forwards? et al.

Lots of factors to consider. In a tournament against OFC recently i looked on the field and counted how many 04s they were starting. it was 3 counting the goalie.

Me personally, its more about the diversity of how many you have returning and how kids off different teams fit in.

That's what I hear. My daughter is an 03, but the 04 girls that was on our team this past year seem to love him and so do the parents. He's coaching the 04s and 01s at Blitz. Girls

Ok, cool. She'd been coming to his workouts and someone said she committed. Not in that age group. Was curious..... Love freest is pretty strong though. Just heard he's a good coach generating a lot if interest. Time will tell if he's as good add his resume. What he did with Union Boys is good start though.

Wow. That's a bold statement. But usually the case when kids move. The player that was great when on your team becomes average when not on that team with you anymore.

Hopefully you aren't talking about the same kid as eastside because your assessment of abilities doesn't sound accurate. Regardless of ability I'm thrilled to have the additions with Blitz this coming year.

I do agree there has been a lot of interest for Moritz and we do believe he has some great things to offer.

I can confirm that one player left 05 TSC to play with her school friends on 04 Blitz. I am told that her spot will likely be filled by a top player moving to Tulsa. This will be an exciting team to watch next season. On a side note, I just heard 05 TSC found a corporate sponsor to fully fund the team for 2 years.
