Neverplayedsoccer, any discussion at your practices about OFC white having a chance to finish in 4th? Since blitz lost this this weekend, I think your white team can jump to 4th if they win their last game and blitz loses.

I don't see Blitz losing to Pemberton. To be honest, I have spent the last couple practices in the car because of weather...so I don't know what anyone was talking about.

Does anyone know what is going to happen in the Spring with Beatie doing their own thing?

As of now we are just playing JR ECNL and 11v11 tournaments. I know we're looking into the SuperCopa in Chicago and possibly the Surf Cup in San Diego, but nothing has been written in stone.

I brought up the Surf Cup to some parents and coaches and a some seemed to want to wait until next year, so I guess we will address it next year.

With Beatie out, does that mean the Spring will only have 4 teams, or will they take that 6th team to make up for Beatie not playing?

So come Fall 2017 will Beattie 05 be ECNL? Just thinking when we get to face you guys next, then I remembered the whole ECNL thing with TSC being the only club in the state, will we ever get to face you again? Maybe in a tournament?

We look forward to playing OFC again but it will have to be in a tourney. We are moving into full ECNL play only, as far as the current info.. who knows if anything changes...

Looks a lot different. Unless another club gets ECNL status, this will be how it will look for a long time. I wish we could set up some friendlies with TSC Beatie. We are 1-1 vs you guys playing real soccer 11v11, with each club winning their home games. Can't wait to get back to playing real soccer!

NeverPlayed, Beattie05 has only played OFC05 once, this season in OPL 9v9 in Tulsa. You must be thinking of another TSC team, maybe Corrino. This is not the same team as last year, some of the same players from Corrino but a completly different team altogethor. Good luck this season.

Yeah I was talking about last year's teams. I know both of us are different teams from last year with the calendar birth year change and all but it was TSC's first vs OFC's first in 11v11 on real fields. I didn't count this year's 9v9 that was over fall break where we didn't have our keeper and had one sub. lol. I have always felt the 2 premier clubs in the state should work together more. I think the kids would benefit...

Although, we lost a couple games in 9v9 I counted them all. Win some, lose some.

IMO, 9v9 or 11v11 is real soccer

Celtic, have you guys played any 11v11 yet? After playing an entire season of 11v11 last year, and having to play 9v9 this year, it literally feels like we might as well be playing indoor. It feels more like a drill than real soccer. Ask any of the Beattie parents, coaches or kids about going back and forth between 9's and 11's and see what they say...I couldn't disagree more with how OSA handled this.

I think if a team wants to play 11v11, then they should be able to.

OSA won't let us play 11v11. Last year they let us play up a year so we could play 11's then they limited our roster number because of our age. LOL. So we were playing older girls with a smaller roster. Then this year they wouldn't let us. It makes no sense. I feel like we regressed in a lot of areas this year, especially fitness. All the small ball touches in the world don't mean squat if your girls can't get up and down the real field. Speed and endurance are a very large part of real soccer. It's like in football, some kids are amazing until you put the pads on and start hitting. That big field will expose a lot of weaknesses...

It will be an interesting year for sure. The 05 TX ECNL teams are really strong. The top 4 TX teams played the best west coast teams last week in the vegas cup and took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I don't know how well Beattie will do but I am excited to find out.

One of our challenges will be conditioning. Beattie dropped 2 players from the team so we have 11 players for 11v11. Fortunately, two of the best Blitz girls will be playing with us this season and should really help our chances. Our first JR ECNL event is next weekend in Houston and I think we play Challenge, Loanstar and Rush.

We've only had 2 scrimmages so far (an 04 boys team and 04 Parker) and won 2-0 and 1-0.

I know we are playing in the SuperCopa and Surf Cup this season so those would be good tournaments to try to meet up.
