State Cup 2016

Time for predictions and of course trash talk. Let's hear it folks. I will be back with my predictions later after I check for teams stacking their rosters ( ha!ha!).

Any drama in the prelims takes place in bracket A. Griffin has to be the favorite, but you have OFC and Carreno that are both really good teams and are ready to take their best shot. Then even if Griffin takes care of business, you have the OFC Carreno matchup for the 2nd seed that could get interesting. Parker looks to have the clearest path to the semis in Bracket B, but is assured of facing two tough teams in the semis and the finals, supposing they make it. Blitz Southlakes duke it out for the 2nd seed in bracket B. Winner gets the honor of getting smoked in the semis.

Preliminary rounds

Bracket A is by far the most difficult bracket. I believe the state champion is from this bracket

OFC 1 Griffin 2 ( should be a preview of the final and could go either way)

The other bracket Parker sails easily to the semifinals, but will face tougher competetion from there on.

I predict the final will be Griffin vs OFC with Griffin winning a close battle 1-0 and crowned state champion.

Here are my predictions. The tournament is rained out and East side parents end up pumping more money into the OKC economy when the entire tournament should have been held in Tulsa.

If the tourney goes on as planned here are my predictions:

Griffin and OFC come out of the A bracket and Cosmos and Parker out of the B.

I predict Cosmos rebounds and takes the top seed in B. Griffin has a hiccup and OFC is too seed in A.

Parker upsets Griffin in Semis and OFC beats coamos.

Parker defeats OFC to win the championship.

My predictions are Griffin and OFC 1 and 2 and Parker and Blitz 1 and 2 then Griffin over Blitz and Parker over OFC, then Griffin wins final. All that being said, ANYTHING can happen in soccer generally and 12 year old girls soccer especially, so I think it'll be pure luck in any of the predictions made so far go as planned....

Agreed, Top 3 seeds from either bracket could feasibly make it through to the semis if another team has an off weekend.

Rumor has it that the following are the bookmakers betting odds (remember not who the bookmaker thinks will win but what name recongnition and what makes the bookmaker the most money) for this tournament, any takers?

10/1 favorite to win it all

1/2 favorite to win their bracket
2/5 to finish in top two of bracket

Also don't be surprised to see OFC White or Amos pack it in and get a surprising tie.  its getting hard to score at this age when teams just pack it in.

Looks like OFC's plan might have backfired, as TSC Carreno beat them 2-0 today.

See! The unpredictability is what makes this fun! Good job Carreno! Got two quick ones and then held the field. I bet OFC comes out swingin for the next game!

It might end up being an all Tulsa Finals.....And I was right about the swingin'....

I mis-stated! I meant the Finals Weekend, not just the finals!

We still have a chance, it's small but still a chance.

Griffin over Carreno 3-0...So it'll be Parker vs Carreno and Griffin vs either Blitz or Southlakes...surprising results for Amos...I may have to re-vote my most improved team to Amos...Only lost to Carreno 1-0 and OFC 1-0...very good job, girls....tremendous improvement!

Scores and be misleading. The term parking the bus comes to mind...

Looks like the West side may need to start recruiting players from the East side in order to compete. All East side teams in the finals. I never thought OFC would take an early exit and not make it out of the preliminaries. unless Blitz can beat Griffin it looks like a TSC final agian.

Blitz needs to be thanking the AR and there overly aggressive parents for there advancement to the next round. Everybody knows that ball didn't go over the line and our keeper grabbed it even the AR did and that's why he didn't call it a goal till blitz parents started going nuts and screaming bloody murder. These refs and AR needs to quit letting parents and coaches influence there calls. Yes I know this is blue room material.

Then take it to the blue room. Do you ever get beat straight up or is it always somebody or something else's fault you lose. Wasn't there but sounds like you were at other end of the field so how do you know it didn't cross the line.

I am pretty sure SLSC parents were very praise worthy of Parker when they kicked SLSC's tail two weeks ago.  But that would require reading and not just reacting....

On a side note, SLSC/Parker game was very entertaining Sunday afternoon. A very clean and hard fought game for both teams. Very curious to see the outcome of the Parker/Carreno game.
